stuck

unafraid,
it lingers
behind words
behind looks
behind the quiet, calm silence

naive,
it bathes
in memories
in bittersweet prose
in stolen fictions

it calls
loudly underneath
the waves
it scratches the eyelids
and peaks its head above the throat

but never leaves
it stays
it lays
and sometimes wades
through the leaf flaked ground

Have a dream

have a dream.
cheap to make.
big enough
to house
more than you need
which is what you have
now.
security
blankets are for family
men and their kids.
details are for
accountants
to count the money
we don't have.
food can't feed you
the way dreams can.
life can't warm you
the way dreams can.
moments of happiness
is not the same
as the infinite euphoria
dreams provide.
have a dream
it's cheap enough to make.

a little less

sometimes
i feel
broken.
shattered.
angered victim of
distrust,
liquor-drenched
forgotten promises.
fist
clenched.
cloudy mind.
cloudy
love
memories.

XOB

open the box,
close the box,
lift the lid slightly,
squint to see
what
slight lights are uncovering
something.
slightly yellow
blue lines
blurred words.
close the box.
shake the box.
flip the box upside down.
lift the box up
press it against the right ear.
nothing.
place box back on the table.
stare
from a distance.
pull a chair against the table.
sit.
place chin on table.
face the box.
close eyes.
imagine opening the box.
water pouring into the box
as it
opens.
more water.
open eyes.
place key into keyhole.
turn right.
turn right.
remove.
